Rasputin, eccentric priest and Russia’s greatest love machine, had a quasi-magical ability to heal the bleeding of young Tsar Alexei, who suffered from haemophilia. The portrait is created using the amino acid sequence of FactorXI, the blood-clotting protein which is deficient in haemophiliacs.
This work is part of the Opus, a project that uses text to render images. See the entry on Mendel (https://www.behance.net/gallery/53060823/Mendel) for explanation.
